Developer Tools

Microsoft PubCenter

PubCenter enabled external developers and Microsoft properties to place ads on their product. It provided tracking and monitoring on ad revenue and impressions. The web site had not been updated or redesigned in years.

The main challenge for the navigation model was that there were two drastically different audiences that were using it. Most external customers had 10 or fewer apps, and didn’t have the need to manage a lot. For these customers, a dashboard UI fit the bill. For internal customers, the potential volume of ads was much higher, and the need for monitoring and tooling went up exponentially.

Visual Studio

For Visual Studio, I designed user interaction for F12 tools. I was also the designer for the functionality that enabled developers to publish applications to Azure. I am included on a functional patent related to publishing to Azure, which can be found here.

Microsoft Dev Center

I designed the new dashboard system for Dev Center that shipped during the 2015 Build conference. I also envisioned what the next version of the dashboard system for Dev Center could look like, and built a prototype to demonstrate the features and benefits of this proposed design.
