Illustration & Infographics

While most of my projects have focused on web design and user interaction design, I have had some interesting opportunities to use some of the drawing and painting skills I gained as a fine arts major in college. For some projects I used virtual brushes and a mouse as a pencil. For others, I had the opportunity to boil a product down to a single logo image, such as with the Orchard and NuGet logos.

The pearls shown above are not photographs. There were drawn and painted in Illustrator and Photoshop while looking at a photograph of a pearl. In the same way that actual pearls are created in their shells, I built up the surface of the image on the pearl by painting it with many layers.

The Magical Unicorn Publish to Azure Cuckoo Clockalog infographic is actually a pretty accurate (although whimsical) representation of the process of publishing to Azure as described in the patent on which I am named.
